So, what do we use to help us make decisions and to make good choices? Will people like people like me or not like me?.In this world, it can feel overwhelming when every choice we make has tremendous outcomes and huge consequences. Who makes decisions based on what others on doing? WHY?.How do you decide what choices to make in life?.Did anyone get left out of an area because it was filled up?.Who decided to go to smaller less populated areas?.How many chose areas because friends were in that area?.How many felt you should not have gotten out because the hammer was closer to another area?.How many were of out of the game because you didn’t choose an area in time?.It was fun to watch how each of you chose differently and at different times throughout that game.Īll of you were faced with the same situation, but made different choices because of different reasons. Play until only one person is left in the playing area and that person then becomes the Hammer for the next round. Leaders will decide which area is the closest.Īlso, anyone that didn’t choose a corner before the hammer was dropped is automatically out of the game. The area closest to where they are pointing is then “hammered” out of the game and must sit down outside the playing area. Give students a 10-second countdown when time is almost up.Īt the end of the countdown, the Hammer will point the giant hammer toward any direction they want. Play “Hammer Time” as they are moving around. They can only choose an area that is not full. On GO, the remaining students will move around the room trying to decide which “safe zone” they want to choose. These zones can be as big, small, and numerous as you would like.īlindfold the student and place them in the center of the room with a hammer in hand. Make sure there is enough space available for each student to have a spot. Remember: The numbers on each safe zone show how many students can be in that area at a time. Use tape to attach the sheets of paper and mark various areas around the room as “safe zones.” Next, on each sheet of paper, write a number, beginning with "1."Ĭontinue, writing numbers on sheets of paper, until the numbers add up to at least the amount of students that are playing the game.įor example, if you have 10 students, then you will have sheets of paper that say, "1," "2," "3,"and "4" = 10. A Hammer (a giant inflatable hammer works best)Ĭount the number of students who will be playing the game. You also might love my CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT SERIES.Bottom Line: When we fix our thoughts on things that honor God, our choices and decisions will lead to life. Materials Needed to Make Stay on Track Bible Craft This Bible craft can be done in your own home or would be easy to do with kids at Sunday School, in private schools, AWANA or Vacation Bible School. It’s exactly the place we want our kids to be too. His soft or sometimes direct leading helps us make decisions that stay in God’s will, which is exactly the place we’d like to be. We know what is good and right and have a choice to make. Isaiah 30:21 says “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way walk in it.'” I love how the Lord gently tugs at our hearts and minds. This stay on track Bible craft focuses on the Bible verse Isaiah 30:21. That said, I also want to teach them how to take the sometimes harder path of righteousness. I want to teach my kids about His forgiveness, grace and open arms for His children. I am so thankful for the grace of God for those times I stray. I might know what is best, but my sinful nature keeps me from making the right choices. I also know it is a struggle to stay on track myself. We want to see them make wise decisions that keep them connected to family, friends and to God. As parents, I think we all hope our kids will stay on track.
